Two volume book, printed by B. & A. Simpson and Young Bani, privately produced at Mabuiag, Torres Strait, 1972, for sale to schoolchildren and interested adults. Written in Mabuiag dialect. Parts 1 and 2. Part 1 accompanied by information about Buddy Simpson from the donor ( 2 pages on 1 leaf, handwritten). Titles: Mura ngulaig : Ngath nin ngurpaik and Mura ngulaig II : Na ngath lak nin ngurpaik.

Photocopy of a notebook kept by Gaulai of Mabuiag in the Torres Strait Islands ; mainly comprises sermons and hymns. These were probably used by Gaulai when he was a lay preacher at Yam Island, Central Torres Strait, in the early 1900s. Includes handwritten genealogical information about Gaulai and his descendants, and five photographs.
Includes notes by donor (2 leaves typescript) on provenance of notebook.

'Mer - Grammar' written on cover of book. Handwritten in Meriam Mir. Written in a Signal Exercise Book. Back cover has come away and middle pages have come away from staples. Some water damage to bottom left-hand side of book. Twenty three loose pages inserted, many with handwritten Meriam Mir language, in pencil or pen, and some double sided. Inserted is also a playscript, handwritten in pencil on 12 leaves (some have writing on reverse), in Meriam Mir language (5 leaves) and English (7 leaves) and tells the story of a Barber in Bagdad.

Photocopy of a handwritten notebook written by Eseli Peter or Peter Eseli (he was know by both names) of Mabuiag, West Torres Strait. Torres Strait Islander names are spelled in a variety of ways in English, changing with time: this photocopied manuscript has 'Esili'. Peter Eseli wrote his notebook in Kala Lagaw Ya. First page of photocopy has brief notes about provenance from donor, Margaret Lawrie.
