Biographical history

Karen Lamb is an academic and literary critic. She completed an MA thesis at the University of Queensland on Peter Carey, and her book Peter Carey: The Genesis of Fame, was published in 1992. She edited the anthology Uneasy Truces which was published in 1990. Her biography Thea Astley: inventing her own weather was published in 2015 by University of Queensland Press and won the 2016 Prime Minister's Literary Award for Non-fiction. She delivered the second annual Fryer Lecture in Australian Literature in 2016.
