History
Karen Lamb, born 8 December 1956, is an academic and literary critic. She earned a Master of Arts from the University of Queensland in 1991 for a thesis on Peter Carey. Her book, Peter Carey: the genesis of fame, was published in 1992. She edited the anthology Uneasy truces which was published in 1990. Her biography Thea Astley: inventing her own weather was published in 2015 by University of Queensland Press and won the 2016 Prime Minister's Literary Award for Non-fiction. She delivered the second annual Fryer Lecture in Australian Literature in 2016.
