This collection is comprised mostly of drafts of Anthony Lawrence’s published and unpublished poetry and prose dating between 1989 and 2021. This collection also includes a series of unpublished playscripts and filmscripts by the author, research materials (mostly relating to Richard Hugo) compiled by the author, book review cuttings (of the author’s 2000 novel In the half light), personal scrapbooks, and awards and commendations presented to the author.

It includes over 100 typescript and handwritten drafts, over 200 letters and over 200 photographs, amongst other materials. Lee's creative partnership with Jane Campion is reflected regularly in this collection, with many materials containing annotations and notes by Campion.

Drafts, correspondence, research notes, and photographs for novels, screenplays and a short story written by Trevor Shearston. There are drafts for his radio documentary feature 'The New Guinea letters of John Green', aired in 1984. The screenplay for 'Snowdrop' (later filmed as 'Envy') had various working titles. Sticks that kill was initially preceded by a stage play call "Goaribari". A straight young back had the working titles of "The old magic touch" and the "Walk novel".
