The author recalls his medical education in Edinburgh (1888-1893) and his practice in Brisbane from 1896. He describes the medical treatment of the time, the bubonic plaque of 1902, and other medical practitioners. Dr Gregory Murphy was the Honorary Sectretary of the Historical Section of the British Medical Assocation. The letters to George Moore concern his request for information about Dr John I. Moore, father of George. The letter from George Moore dated 25 January 1950 encloses typed reminiscences by his mother, then aged 90.
