Photographic prints of plantation life, people and scenery in Australian New Guinea. Locations include Rabaul, Witu, Matala Plantation, Gumyitke Creek (New Britain), and Vunakambi Plantation. Many of the photographs feature Stan and Marjorie McCosker and local people employed as plantation labourers and house servants. The majority of the photographs were taken in the 1920s and 1930s. A small number were taken at Matala Plantation in 1948.

Three maps of New Britain. The earliest map, dated 1927, shows New Britain in relation to surrounding islands and the New Guinea mainland. It includes an index of properties and places, and shows plantations and trading stations. The other two maps were issued by the U.S. Army in 1943 and show sections of New Britain. An accompanying note by Anne McCosker states the maps were used by Stan McCosker during the war years.

Includes a letter from Stan to Marjorie McCosker dated 17 December 1941; correspondence between Marjorie and Francie King; a statement by A.J. Gaskin, S. McCosker and T.H. Targett concerning the military and civilian administration of Rabaul up to 22 January 1942; a copy of a statement by Mr McGowan about the Japanese invasion; a handwritten draft of a short story titled 'Escape' by Robin McCosker; and two newspaper cuttings.

Documents include a permit dated 27 May 1941 issued to Marjorie, allowing her to leave and return to the Territory of New Guinea with two children; inventories of goods and personal effects shipped; and an offer of employment to Marjorie from St Margaret's School, Brisbane.

Letters from Stan to Marjorie McCosker in 1941 after she was evacuated from New Guinea to Australia, a letter from Stan McCosker to Walford King, and a letter from Marjorie to Francie King. The file also contains instructions dated 30 May 1940 from the Commanding Officer of the New Guinea Volunteer Rifles listing the personnel to escort enemy internees from Rabaul to Sydney. Stan McCosker is named as one of the seven members of the escort.
