Typescript poem 'The victory : Murwillumbah ... Sept 15th 1907-8'. Unpublished. Most likely written by George Essex Evans. Found in the book A new star atlas for the library, school, and the observatory in twelve circular maps by Richard A. Proctor. The book was donated by the family of George Essex Evans. The poem is accompanied by newspaper cuttings from the period 1922-1929, mostly relating to astronomy that were also inserted into Proctor's book.

Accompanied by press cuttings about the donation of the letter to the Fryer Library by Redland Museum.

Discusses in detail the mural works of Don Cowen and Quentin Hole in the former University of Queensland Geology Museum, Richards Building, and their relevance as art works based on scientific knowledge of the day. Contents include a copy of the paper presented and a printout of the PowerPoint presentation, 34 pages.

Thirty-two black and white photographs, on a CD-ROM, of a demonstration on 10 May 1985 against the awarding of an honorary doctorate of Laws to Queensland Premier Johannes Bjelke-Petersen. Up to 5000 UQ students, UQ staff, trade unionists and other outraged citizens attended the protest outside Mayne Hall, St Lucia, where the award ceremony was to take place. Although the ceremony proceeded, the Premier did not attend.

T-shirt made as part of the University of Queensland staff and student campaign against the dismissal of the Whitlam Government (perhaps by the Aunty Shadbolt Spirit of Liberty newspaper collective) in November 1975. Also, 'Hecate' T-shirt, made to celebrate the first issue of 'Hecate' in January 1975.
Includes explanatory notes by the donor (1 leaf typescript).

Material relating to Paul Robeson's Brisbane tour in 1960

Two photographs of Paul Robeson with groups of people (b&w), two newspaper cuttings from the Courier Mail (15 Oct 1960, and his obituary on Jan 26, 1976), and 1960 Australian tour programme signed by Paul Robeson and Eslanda Robeson.

Paul Robeson and his wife Eslanda visited Brisbane in October 1960. He sang at a concert at Festival Hall on Saturday, October 15 and they both attended some functions in Brisbane during their short stay. The autographed programme was obtained at a private reception at the home of Mrs Ivy Scott (pictured in the garden party photograph) at New Farm. The second photograph shows Paul Robeson signing autographs at the airport for fans, including Margaret Macdonald, her father Alex Macdonald (Trades and Labor Council Secretary) and Barbara Bacon.
