Biographical history

James Francis Truscott was born in Brisbane on 26 May 1956. He is the second, and middle, child of Meta Frances and Allan Truscott. Truscott graduated from the Duntroon Royal Military College in 1977. He served in many different regiments of the Australian Army, including the Special Air Service Regiment. Truscott was a member of the 1988 Australian Bicentennial Everest Expedition. He was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his organisation and participation in this expedition. Truscott married Colette Paula Lawless in 1984; the couple had four children between 1986 and 1991. In 2000, Truscott left the Australian Army and and entered business as a crisis management consultant, eventually creating Truscott Crisis Leaders based in Perth, Western Australia. Truscott died suddenly on 28 April 2021, aged 64.

This file comprises one photograph album and one album of photographs which were loose at the time of acquisition. The photographs range from Truscott's childhood in approximately 1956 to his mother's death in 2014 and include photographs of himself and his family and friends. The photographs are mostly colour, with some black-and-white.

Black-and-white and colour photographs of Truscott and his family and friends. The photographs range from Truscott as a child in 1956 to his mother's death in 2014 . These photographs were loose at the time of acquisition and have been rehoused in an archival photograph album sized 33 x 29 cm. The photographs are arranged in approximate chronological order by the processing archivist.

Album 5
Black-and-white and colour photographs of Truscott and his family and friends, as well as his studies at Duntroon Royal Military College. These photographs were compiled by Truscott's mother, Meta Frances Truscott, and formerly housed in a commercially produced photograph album sized 22 x 33 cm. A sticker on the front cover of the original album reads 'For Jim' in Meta Frances Truscott's handwriting. The original album contained around 70 pages of various sized photo sleeves. The photos date from approximately 1970 to 1980. The photographs have been rehoused in an archival photograph album, sized 33 x 29 cm, by the processing archivist. Arranged in approximate chronological order.

A professionally printed and bound photograph book. Includes 20 pages of various sized photographs printed on photograph paper. The book includes photographs from Truscott's eldest son's wedding in 2013.
