Biographical history

Eunice Catherine Gilmour was born on 11 November 1921 to James Stephen Gilmour and Elizabeth Stuart Fryer. She was the eldest child and had a sister Lex and a brother John. The family lived on Mount Kelman Station. She was the eldest cousin in the Fryer Family and spent time caring for her younger cousins, including the children of Richard Alexander James Fryer and Walter Ponsonby Fryer . She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree as an external student at the University of Queensland in 1948. She worked as a teacher and a librarian (at State Library Queensland, Brisbane) before returning to Springsure to support her elderly parents. She died on 1 January 2022.

Photograph album, 17 x 27 cm, with 33 black and white photographs and 2 colour photographs relating to Eunice Gilmour, with photocopy of letter to Eunice from James Stephen Gilmour (her father), dated 5 Mar 1928, and printout split into three of "John Charles Gilmour - 80t Birthday Recollections", and 1 loose photograph reprinted from Queensland Country Life. Photographs (and papers) held in place by photo corners. Black and white photograph stuck to front cover. Inscription on inside cover "Belongs to Joycelyn Thomas". Includes photographs of the Gilmour and Fryer families. Photographs dated 1919 to 1950, however most undated.
