Biographical history

Mary Montgomerie Christison was born on 8 July 1881 in London. She was the eldest daughter of Robert Christison (1837-1915), an explorer, pioneer and owner of Lammermoor in North Queensland, and his wife Mary Christison (née Godsall), a photographer. Mary married Charles Douglas Bennett in 1914. She was the compiler of Christison of Lammermoor and author of various works on the Yirandali people.

Photographer. Married Robert Christison of Lammermoor, North Queensland in 1880. She was his second wife. They had a son and two daughters, the elder of whom was Mary Montgomerie (Mimi) Bennett.
