Leslie M. Perrott Senior was a Melbourne architect in the inter-war period. He was was born in Gippsland, and moved with his family to Melbourne after the death of his father. He studied architecture at the Melbourne Technical College. In 1914, Perrott established his own practice which specialised in the use of concrete for houses. He became the leading designer of many of Melbourne’s grand hotels, including the Alexander Hotel. 'His moderne Hotel Australia (1939) soon became the social epicentre of Melbourne. Perrott's son, also named Leslie M. (1926–2001), after graduating in 1951, set about expanding the office to encompass the postwar boom. In 1971 the firm became Perrott, Lyon, Timlock and Kesa.

George Henry Male Addison was born on 23 March 1857 in Llanelly, Wales. He studied architecture in London. Addison immigrated to South Australia. Married Emily Alice Maude in 1884 with whom he had four children: Lily Isabel Maude (1885-1968), Edward james (1887-1956), George Frederick (1889-1985) and Edith May (1892-?). G.H.M. Addison was an architect and painter working in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane between 1884 and 1922. In partnership as Terry, Oakden and Addison / Oakden, Addison and Kemp, architects in Melbourne and Brisbane, 1886-1897; Addison and Corrie, architects and valuers in Brisbane, 1898-1905; Addison and Hassall, architects in Brisbane, 1906-1907. Formed partnership with son George Frederick Addison, G.M.H. Addison and Son in 1919. He was a chairman of the Brisbane Art Gallery. He died on 6 February 1922.

Eric Percival Trewern was born in Bendigo, and worked as a draughtsman for the Queensland Public Works Department. He established his own architectural practice in Brisbane in 1920 and became an extremely successful residential architect during the inter-war period, especially noted for adapting the Spanish Mission and California bungalow styles to Queensland. He also designed commercial buildings.

Own Frederick Hurrell Holberton Hodgen was born on 29 April 1911 to parents Stella Emily Hamilton and William Hodgen. He articled as an architect with his father from 1928 to 1934 and was registered as an architect (Queensland) in 1934. He was in partnership as W. Hodgen and Hodgen, Architects, Toowoomba from 1935 to 1943.

Architect Charles McLay was born near Stirling, Scotland in 1860. After training as an architect in his home country, he moved to Australia, arriving in Brisbane in 1885 where he was initially employed as a Draftsman by the Queensland Government. He worked as a lecturer and examiner at Brisbane Central Technical College between 1895 and 1901 and held various positions in professional associations in Queensland from 1900. In 1907, he entered into a partnership with H.W. Atkinson, a practice which was a forerunner of Conrad and Gargett. McLay remained a partner in the practice until his death in 1918.

Neil Nelson Hodgen was born in Toowoomba on 3 September 1909 to Stella Emily Hamilton and William Hodgen. He articled as an architect with his father from 1928-1933 and qualified in 1933. Neil Hodgen was in partnership as W. Hodgen and Hodgen, Architects, Toowoomba from 1935 -1938. He died in a car crash on 3 September 1938.

William Hodgen (junior) was born in Toowoomba on 28 June 1866. His father, William Hodgen was a buildder and contractor in Toowoomba. After work as a cadet in the Colonial Architect's Office, he resigned in 1891 to travel to London where he obtained employment with William Flockhart. He returned to Queensland and began practice as an architect in Toowoomba in 1897. He undertook work throughout southern and western Queensland. He practised with his sons Neil Nelson Hodgen and Owen Frederick Hodgen from 1935. He died in Toowoomba on 29 July 1943.

Gerald William Bruce Furse was born in Strathfield, New South Wales in 1906. He was became an architect in 1933. In 1934 he went into partnership with Guy Crick. Crick and Furse dominated the Australian theatre architecture until the partnership was terminated in 1940. After the end of World War Two he returned to private practice as Bruce W Furse and Associates. After an accident in 1954 he was unable to continue his architectural career. He died in 1967.

Brisbane-based architect, foundation student at Brisbane Central Technical College and employee of the Queensland Government from 1882 to 1890. From 1890 he worked as an architect, forming the partnership H.W. Atkinson and Chas. McLay in 1907. Later partnerships were Atkinson and Conrad (1918-1927), Atkinson, Powell and Conrad (1927-1931), and Atkinson and Conrad (1931-1937). He retired from practice in 1937.

Sydney architect William Rae Laurie migrated to Australia from Scotland as a child and gained his architectural qualifications at Sydney University, graduating in 1922. After travelling around Europe, he joined the practice of Henry White in 1926. He later set up his own firm in which he was joined by Eric Fergus Heath in 1933, creating the partnership of Laurie and Heath. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Australian Institute of Architects (then RAIA) in 1966.

Melbourne-based Anketell Matthew Henderson (1853-1923) began his independent architectural practice in 1878. In 1905 his son, Kingley Anketell Henderson (1883-1942) joined him in partnership forming A. & K. Henderson. In 1921 the firm became A & K Henderson, Alsop & Martin.
