Exercise book containing handwritten poems by Ivie Murchie. Includes 6 photographs of schools and residences where Ivie Murchie taught and lived (Mungar, Normanton, Bundaberg; [187-] - [1904] ). Also includes typed list of schools at which he taught, and the dates.

Contains handwritten poem by James Brunton Stephens, beginning 'Another year its course has run'. The poem was apparently written as part of the presentation of the scrapbook to Mrs. Outridge, on the occasion of the school's first breaking-up at the end of year. Also contains newspaper clippings, some with biographical information, pressed flowers, and cards.

Account of author's experience as a teacher in the Central Queensland region (Rockhampton, Maryborough, Mt. Chalmers, Jericho, Gympie) from 1887 to 1940. Also describes social conditions of the area.
