Video recording of the performance of Deep Bells Ring at the Princess Theatre in Brisbane in 1987. It played at the Princess Theatre from 1 to 11 April. The script is based on the book Robeson by Nancy Wills. Errol O'Neill was the director of the stage performance.

Written on the cover "University of Queensland Bushwalking Club". Comprises 147 black and white photographs, some yellowing with age, and 4 colour photographs. Most photographs have been pasted onto the pages, with captions. Few photographs have dates. Captions from album are in single inverted commas; other titles are provided by the processing archivist. Photograph numbers have been assigned by the processing archivist, as have the page numbers. There are some photographs that have a title for the event and this is in italics, grouped by image numbers. There are eight loose photographs, inserted at the end of the album.

Form letter from Trevor Hart, Secretary for the Campaign for an Independent East Timor (Q) announcing the presence in Brisbane of Chris Santos, the Democratic Republic of East Timor Information Officer. The letter extends an invitation to a reception at the Waterside Workers Hall on the Friday; a rally on the Saturday morning with the theme 'East Timor Speaks' to be held at the City Square where speakers at the rally will be Joe Harris, Wally Stubbings, Dan'O'Neil, Brian Towler and Chris Santos; and an informal discussion on the subject 'Strategy for the Campaign in Australia' to be held on the Saturday afternoon.

Alice Hughes is joined by her friend Ivy Neilson, who was the secretary of the Innisfale Branch of the Communist Party. Ivy talks of her early life growing up in a militant family in Queensland; Alice and Ivy talk about the Communist Party's political school they both attended in Alexandra Headlands in 1945; their relationship with their husbands and their resentment to the women's political activities; working relationship between women and men in the Communist Party; and sexual harassment in the meat industry.
