Handwritten letters, most are addressed to 'My dear Collie'. Letters include: to 'My dear Collie' from 'your affectionate Mother, Margaret M. Bell'; letters, incoming and outgoing between Lady Bell and Daly & Schacht Solicitors; letter to Lady Bell from C. V. Hellicar (Solicitor); letters to 'My dear Mama' signed your affect. son Joshua T. Bell' (on letterhead for The Parliament of Queensland Library); letter to 'My dear Mama' from 'your affect. son Oswald M Bell' (on letterhead of Daly & Schacht Solicitors). Most of these letters relate to the financial matters.

Original folder titled 'French translations of Colloquium papers' and contains 10 poems: ‘Le Crime du Pere Jacquot Le Noir’ (incomple), ‘Le Racisme’, ‘Le Bunyip’, ‘Banal’, ‘Yussef (Hi-jacker)’, ‘La Civilisation’, ‘Mon Enfant’, ‘Mont Bluff’, ‘Les Droits De L'Aborigine’, and ‘Premiere Partie La Nature du Reve’ (incomplete).

The Western Arts Building was designed to be geometrically related to the existing surrounding buildings forming a visual relation across Mill Road. It was to sit back from the western end of Main Building (Forgan Smith), linked by a cloister. The pilot plan for the proposed Western Arts Building designed by Birrell was submitted to the Australian Universities Commission (A.U.C.) in 1965 and rejected. Birrell's design was a break from the original design by Hennessy and Hennessy who were eventually commissioned as architects for the Western Arts building (Mitchie Building) on 16 March 1967.

This file consists of 35 plans for proposed New Western Arts building on the St. Lucia campus. Includes: site plans and presentation sketches for floor plans and perspectives.

The Agriculture and Entomology Building was built in three stages. This file comprises drawings for Stage 1 which had the job number of B7. All drawings in this file are working drawings, ink line drawings on tracing paper. From the title block the client is The University of Queensland, St. Lucia for the Co-ordinator General of Public Works. Almost all are dated July 1967 (one is August 1967 and one is undated), with a running sequential drawing number from 1 to 42. Architect is James Birrell and Partners. Consultants: Structural is Antony Tod and Partners; Electrical & Mechanical is P.R. Scott and Associates; and Quantity surveyor is Herbert R. Mitchell and Son. Drawings are:
