Handwritten drafts of the works of George Washington Power. These papers were collected by John O'Keeffe, grandson of George Washington Power. The papers have been put in order as much as possible, but the correct sequence for pages may not always have been identified.

Diaries, travel notes, notebooks, correspondence, manuscripts, sketches, press clippings, photographs, articles featured in The Queenslander and Darling Downs Gazette and material for The Antipodeon, and biographical material. Photocopies of letters 1892 to 1906 by or about Evans, held in the Mitchell Library. There is also a scrapbook containing original sketches by Percy F.S. Spence, Frank P. Mahony, C. Roth, B.E. Minns, and E. Bevan.

Nine engineering drawings of the new Victoria Bridge designed in 1893. Alfred Barton Brady was the Government Architect and Engineer for Bridges and designed Victoria bridge in these drawings. His staff that assisted with the engineering work of the bridge included J. S. Murdoch, T. Pye, and W. J. Ewart. Eight of the drawings have the title New Victoria Bridge over the Brisbane River. Brisbane.

The new Victoria Bridge was the fourth bridge to span the Brisbane River at the spot running between Queen Street on the north bank and Melbourne Street on the south bank. The first structure was a temporary wooden bridge, constructed in 1865, which lasted only 2 years. Construction of the first permanent bridge, old Victoria Bridge, had commenced in 1864, but it did not open until 1874, operating as a toll bridge until 1877. Old Victoria Bridge was destroyed by the 1893 floods. A second temporary bridge was built in 1893, with construction of new Victoria Bridge beginning soon after. The second temporary bridge was washed away in floods in 1896, by which time the new Victoria bridge was nearing completion. The new Victoria Bridge opened in 1897, and it remained in service until replaced by the current Victoria Bridge in 1969, at which time the new Victoria Bridge was demolished. One of the stone archways which flanked the pedestrian access to the bridge remains on the south side of the Brisbane River, near the entrance to the South Bank parklands.

Photocopies of handwritten and typescript diaries of Albert McDonald. Includes diary of Fanny Rowland McDonald for 30 Nov 1884 - 23 Dec 1884. Diaries 12 Dec 1864 to 30 Mar 1865, and 19 Sep 1864 to 23 Dec 1864 are in different handwriting to others. Albert McDonald lived in the Maryborough region.

Eight notebooks (four written in ink and four in pencil) and six photographs. Field notes of surveys in north Queensland, with some geological observations. The suburb was situated on Moreton Bay, west of Nudgee Beach, and was locally known as "Cribby". The Queensland Government compulsory acquired the entirety of the suburb between 1970 and 1980 for expansion of the Brisbane Airport. Cribb Island was the first Brisbane suburb to be entirely resumed for development.

Cribb Island had developed as a beachside holiday destination and was a forerunner of the communities of owner-built holiday shacks that would later spring up in many bayside areas. After World War One, a more permanent community emerged on Cribb Island. Historian Jack Ford records that at its height, Crib Island boasted a state school, a convent school, two churches, a post office, a police station, a medical clinic, a kiosk, a cinema and a private bus service.

The photographs document architectural styles, views and street scenes in the suburb's final days.
