Academic works

Tania Peitzker studied at the University of Queensland, undertaking a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in the 1990s. This series is comprised of material relating to her fourth year honours project. It includes annotated copies of printouts of journal articles, notes, correspondence, drafts of her report 'Toward the construction of a lesbian history in Australia : dyke intellectuals of the liberation movements and their influence on sexual politics today' and her honours thesis 'Questions of politics in the "moment" of the Australian journal of cultural studies : a genealogy of interdisciplinary knowledge and practice in Australia" (1994). Where possible original folders have been retained; material relating to Tania Peitzker's nomination for Australian Historical Association Prize for Australian History; material relating to Queer Collaborations conference, Brisbane, 2-9 July 1994; and a hard bound copy of her PhD dissertation 'Dymphna Cusack (1902-1981) : a feminist analysis of gender in her romantic realistic texts' (2000).

Awards

Judith Rodriguez received the Fellowship of Australian Writers (Vic.) Christopher Brennan poetry award in 1994. The series includes one folder with FAW documentation and the award.

Snowdrop [screenplay] - filmed as Envy [motion picture] (1999)

This series contains drafts and notes. The screenplay for Snowdrop, with the working title of 'Little black dress', was not commissioned. Sheartson wrote it and it was taken up by Julie Money and Michael Cook. After disagreements between Shearston and Adelphi Films, the screenplay rights were bought by Julie Money and Michael Cook with Jeff Truman as the final writer of what became the film Envy. This film is also know as The new girlfriend. This series includes drafts of the various working titles, correspondence, and reviews.

Beatrice Davis Editorial Fellowship

Diary, correspondence, cards, Fellowship reports, ephemera, drafts, notes, newspaper cuttings relating to Rosanne Fitzgibbons receiving the first Beatrice Davis Award in 1992 and her time in New York with Norton Publishing in 1992-92. The Fellowship is named after the distinguished literary editor Beatrice Davis and provides an opportunity for a senior editor to develop knowledge and expertise in the editorial department of an international publishing house/s.

Harry Oakman Award

Documents relating to the Harry Oakman Award, including photocopies of newspaper cuttings announcing the establishment of the award in 1992 and the inaugural award winner; a typed report by Malcolm Bunzli, two leaves, dated 25 September 1992, about the Harry Oakman Award, the 1992 award ceremony, the 1992 award recipient Lawrence (Lawrie) Smith of Landplan Studio in Brisbane, and the winning project by the Toowoomba City Council; bi-fold brochure about the Harry Oakman Award, established to 'recognise and promote excellence in landscape planning and landscape design' by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Queensland Group and the Royal Institute of Park and Recreation and the Local Government Association, with information on nominations, judging criteria and the assessing panel; and an 18-page booklet with colour photographs titled 'Awards for excellence in landscape architecture : Queensland Group' covering the 1996 AILA Queensland Gala Awards Night, an event where Harry Oakman was a guest of honour and the Harry Oakman Award was presented to the Gladstone City Council.
