Many of the photographs feature Stan and Marjorie McCosker and local people employed as plantation labourers and house servants. The majority of the photographs were taken in the 1920s and 1930s. A small number were taken at Matala Plantation in 1948.

Photographic prints atached to bound sheets of paper with a cover sheet stating, 'Early folders of photos for use in Masked Eden. Some used, some not.' The photographs are numbered and the folder is accompanied by a corresponding list of captions. The photographs show members of the McCosker family and their New Guinea associates, local people who were probably plantation employees or their relations, and scenes from locations in New Guinea where the McCoskers were based. A second set of photographic prints, attached to loose sheets of cardboard, feature similar subjects. The file contains a photograph album (28 pages : 98 b&w photographs ; 13 x 18 x 2 cm) attributed to Winifred Francis Martin, which contains photographic prints from the mid-1930s of scenes and Indigenous people from the northern islands of New Guinea. The file also contains three photographs; two of the photographs show Australian military personnel returning to Australia in 1918 aboard the Euripides; the third photograph, taken in the 1950s, is of Annie Scott, who was aboard the Euripides during the 1918 voyage. The notes on the reverse of the photograph of Scott reference the monograph Homeward on H.M.T. A14 March 1918, compiled by the passengers during the voyage.

Papers collected and organised for the purpose of writing the book Masked Eden. Papers include correspondence, newspaper cuttings, local news bulletins, typed manuscripts of stories, statements, copies of military records and some administrative records and photographs. Some correspondents in this subseries are also represented in Series B.

Three maps of New Britain. The earliest map, dated 1927, shows New Britain in relation to surrounding islands and the New Guinea mainland. It includes an index of properties and places, and shows plantations and trading stations. The other two maps were issued by the U.S. Army in 1943 and show sections of New Britain. An accompanying note by Anne McCosker states the maps were used by Stan McCosker during the war years.

Handwritten and typed drafts of Anne McCosker's poems and short stories, often with heavy editing and annotations, and notes and drafts for the book Lieutenant Martin's Letters. Many of the drafts of poems and stories are in notebooks. The series also contains a typed draft of a story titled 'Pacific Pot Pourri: Concerning One Klearwatgear', written during World War 2 by Winifred Martin.

A licence to drive a motor vehicle, issued by the Territory of Papua New Guinea to Stanley McCosker; a certificate issued by the Federal Institute of Accountants to Marjorie Martin certifying her as a Provisional Associate of the Institute; a sheet bearing the imprints of two ink stamps: the stamp of the Deutsche Kolonialgesellschaft Abteiling Bismarck Archipel, and the stamp of the New Guinea Compagnie. The original ink stamps used can be found in Series E, File 1.
