Plaster copy of Daphne Mayo's copy of the Winged victory of Samothrace that she created while studying at Brisbane's Central Technical College. The college had a plaster cast that she used as a model. It won her the inaugural (1914) Queensland Wattle Day Leagues travelling art scholarship training in Europe. One wing has fallen off. It does not have a plinth.

6 large sketch pads and 1 account ledger. Sketch pads have notes and drawings (in pencil, pen). Account ledger (33 cm) has notes on firings of sculptures with dates ranging from 1946 to 1956, lists of names and addresses, and general notes.

Daphne Mayo's Sydney Studio at 231 George Street was reclaimed by the Sydney Cove Development Authority in 1981. Queensland Trustees Limited, who had power of attorney for Mayo, engaged Judith McKay to direct the sorting and dispersal of the Sydney Studio from 29 June to 8 July 1981. Mayo had been a tenant of the building since 1940 and retained this studio after her move back to Brisbane. She was the last tenant to leave the building. This album is volume one of a two volume set of photograph albums complied by Judith McKay detailing the contents of the studio and the packing of contents. These letters written by Daphne to her parents are presumed to be from the estate of her mother, Lila Mayo. Daphne wrote letters to both her parents and to each parent individually.
