Business and personal papers.

Business and personal correspondence of Stan McCosker, a copy of the certificate of marriage of Stanley McCosker and Marjorie Martin, a hand-drawn map of the boundaries of the Matala plantation and a newspaper cutting by Marjorie Martin about her life on Mingan in New Guinea. Correspondence includes four letters from Rombin to Stan McCosker. Rombin was one of McCosker's plantation employees.

Photographs.

Three photographs taken at a 1949 ceremony in Rabaul for awarding of war medals. Stan McCosker is identified in one of the photographs.

Real property maps and land ownership orders.

Final order dated 22 June 1953, re-establishing ownership of the Matala plantation to Herbert Walford King and Stanley McCosker under the New Guinea Land Titles Restoration Ordinance 1951-1952; and a map of the islands of the Hermit Group, supplied to H. Walford King in September 1956.

Maps of New Britain.

Three maps of New Britain. The earliest map, dated 1927, shows New Britain in relation to surrounding islands and the New Guinea mainland. It includes an index of properties and places, and shows plantations and trading stations. The other two maps were issued by the U.S. Army in 1943 and show sections of New Britain. An accompanying note by Anne McCosker states the maps were used by Stan McCosker during the war years.

Research papers 3.

Documents relating to the eruption of volcanoes on Vulcan Island and Matupi, near Rabaul, in 1937. Documents include the 4 June 1937 issue of The Rabaul Times, three letters from around that time, a typed account of the events, and two published articles.

Research papers 5.

Letters from Stan to Marjorie McCosker in 1941 after she was evacuated from New Guinea to Australia, a letter from Stan McCosker to Walford King, and a letter from Marjorie to Francie King. The file also contains instructions dated 30 May 1940 from the Commanding Officer of the New Guinea Volunteer Rifles listing the personnel to escort enemy internees from Rabaul to Sydney. Stan McCosker is named as one of the seven members of the escort.
