Present plan of Corner house Hotel Gordonvale
The Corner House Hotel was located on the corner of Gordon and Norman Streets. In August 1937, V.M. Brown called for tenders to do alterations, repairs, additions and painting to the Corner House Hotel at Gordonvale for Mr. C.M. Whitehouse. This blueprint is the present plan of the hotel. It has two signatures in different pens and handwritting (very faded) at the bottom right hand corner of the plan.
After a cyclone in 1934 damaged the original Exchange Hotel in Mossman (North Queensland), V.M. Brown designed, for Mrs T. Nugent, the second Exchange Hotel. It was built from 1934 to 1935. The Exchange Hotel, located on 2 Front Street in Mossman, was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 9 November 2012. This file has seven architectural plan for the proposed hotel.
