Major projects documented in this series include the successive stages of the Queensland Cultural Centre, the Queensland Conservatorium of Music at South Bank, restoration of and extensions to St Stephen's Cathedral, and the Australian Parliament House design competition. The series also contains files of newspaper and journal articles relating to Brisbane architecture and projects for which Robin Gibson and Partners was responsible.

The largest component of the collection consists of architectural drawings and associated job files created by Gibson's practice. Most of the items in the collection were created by Gibson and his partners and staff. Other creators are named when their identity is known.

Manuscript book of paste-ups for Cities in the Sun, which was published as a book in 1964. This was the result of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Sisalkraft Research Scholarship awarded in 1963, in which Trotter spent three months in subtropical regions of the world to develop knowledge relevant for Brisbane architecture and climate.
