This file is comprised six items. There are three typescripts: 'My first ten years - some memories of party life' which is about participation in Communist Party activities in the 1940s (7 leaves, typescript, with handwritten emendations); 'Val', which is about Val Fraser (colleague in the Communist Party) (4 leaves, typescript, with handwritten emendations); and four typescript leaves recalling her early childhood years at Wynnum and Lindum with a handwritten note on the first page 'written a good few years back'. All are undated. There are two newspapers cuttings of Kath Watson in Somerville House Sports Teams from 1925 and 1927; and an 'Where is it book?' (Ancol notebook) listing women to include in the 1978 Woman and Labor papers, undated but possibly from 1978.

Handwritten letter from James O'Neil Mayne to 'My dear Mr Mayor', William Alfred Jolly, thanking him for a photograph of St Lucia and discussing his aspirations for the University site. Double sided letter on 1 sheet, 16 cm, on 'Moorlands. Toowong' letterhead. Signed by James Mayne. Dated 22 Nov 1927. Accompanied by press cuttings about the donation of the letter to the Fryer Library by Redland Museum.

Geology assignment

Typescript notes on the geology of south east Queensland (45 l.) with accompanying leaves of photographs, tables and maps, from his time as a student at the University of Queensland.

Bank of Australasia, cnr Queen & Wharf Streets, Brisbane

Four photocopies of architectural plans drawn by Anketell & K. Henderson for the new premises of the Bank of Australasia located on the corner of Queen and Wharf Streeets, Brisbane. The first plan includes elevations. This building began construction in ca. 1927. The Bank of Australasia was sold by the ANZ Bank in 1981. It was later demolished. Berkman used the stones from the building for the Garms house in Tennyson.

Not all years have correspondence. 1925 has 11 letters and correspondents include: 'Gabriel alias Kathleen Walker' (5 letters to 'My dear Tobias'); Grace (2 letters); and Robbie. 1927 has 3 letters and 1 telegram and includes a letter from Walter Taylor of Grosvenor Galleries. 1929 has 2 cards, 1 postcard, 1 lettercard, and 26 letters and correspondents include: Wal (Walter Taylor of Grosvenor Galleries); Rosie (possibly Aunt Rose? - 6 letters, 1 postcard, 1 b&w photograph), Thomas, Connie (2 letters) , 'Golly' (Nell Mary Lette Hubble) (3 letters).
