Manifesto no. 1

Roneoed copy of the first manifesto, dated 28/1/72. Possibly written by Denis Walker. It begins by welcoming delegates to the 'Action Conference on Racism and Education' to be held at the Queensland University from 28 Jan to 2 Feb 1972. It outlines how the Black Panther Party, Brisbane Chapter, will work in a revolutionary way to achieve human rights for Aboriginal people and the alleviation of racism and racist government policy; attempts to change the present system from within organisations has not worked.

Notice of a public forum to be held at the OPAL Centre on Anne Street in Brisbane on the evening of Friday 27 October. The purpose of the forum is to suggest solutions to problems faced by Aboriginal Australians. The panelists include Denis Walker, J. Herlihy from the Legal Aid Committee, Sam Watson (Junior), Darcy Cummins and a representative from the Office of Aboriginal Affairs, Canberra. Chaired by Reverend J.R. Sweet.
