Architectural drawings, job files, photographs, renderings, correspondence and awards relating to the architectural practice of Robin Gibson and his firm Robin Gibson and Partners. The largest component of the collection consists of architectural drawings and associated job files created by Gibson's practice. Most of the items in the collection were created by Gibson and his partners and staff. Other creators are named when their identity is known.

Correspondence

Correspondence originally filed separately from job files. Some of this material relates to projects Gibson was involved in, such as the redevelopment of ANZAC Square and the redevelopment of the Tattersall's Club, both in Brisbane. Some of the correspondence is personal.

Documents about major projects and nominations for industry awards. Projects include the stages of the Queensland Cultural Centre, St Stephen's Cathedral and St Therese's Church. used from an original folder labelled 'Office Projects - Descriptive Information'. Includes a typescript of an address by Gibson on 'University Library Buildings: Planning and Methodology', delivered at the Regional Workshop on University Library Buildings, 1976

Awards and certificates

Numerous certificates for meritorious architectural work, a Diploma in Architecture from The University of Queensland, certificates of election as an Associate, Fellow and Life Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA), and as an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a certificate of appointment as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO).

Photographs

Photographic negatives, slides and prints relating to architectural jobs and competitions in which Robin Gibson was involved. The series also contains a framed portrait photograph of Robin Gibson. Richard Stringer is identified as the photographer of some of the photographs. In most cases the photographer is not identified.
