Scope and content
A reply to an anonymously written memorandum and petition that sought the dissolution of the Aboriginal and Islanders Tribal Council. The reply, written by Denis Walker, addresses allegations of misappropriating Council funds and of contravening Council meeting practices to enact his agenda. Walker also addresses Council members who communicated with individuals and institutions external to the Council about internal disputes, denouncing these actions as antithetical to the principles and ideology of the Tribal Council. Walker submits two motions. The first motion is to assert that Council matters cannot be dictated by bodies outside the council, and the second motion is to expel members who use these tactics and brand them as traitors. The letter is dated 17th October 1971.
