Also details Pittock's experiences in his role as Convenor of the Legislative Reform Committee of the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders (FCAATSI), and attending the thirteenth annual Conference of the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders in Canberra in 1970.

Includes calls for: freedom; full employment; decent housing; education; exemption of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from military service; an end to police oppression and introduction of community policing; revised procedures for trials; a United Nations supervised plebiscite so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can determine their own destiny.
