History

Jean Mary Bird. Born on 29 December 1919. Won the Ford Memorial Medal for Poetry. Completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland in 1959. Worked at the University of Queensland as a secretary from 1939 to 1960, after which she worked as a high school teacher at Somerville House, Brisbane, and Pymble Ladies' College, Sydney. She was a member of the Gordon Baptist Church, formerly the Pymble Baptist Church, and wrote a history of the church titled A history of a congregation through 75 years - 1917 to 1992. She possibly died in 2010.
