Notes: The Association was formed in reaction to pressure for state aid to denominational schools by the Catholic Taxpayers' Association (formed 1936). This and other sectarian issues were the principal issues in the 1938 Queensland elections. The Association was prevented by its constitution from aligning with any political party but members of the Association were involved in the Protestant Labour Party (formed in 1937) and some P.L.P. candidates claimed to be backed by the U.P.A.

Notes: This group was initiated by people who ran an anarchist book stall at the University of Queensland in 1979.

Objectives - To disseminate information about the Australia Party on campus and to formulate policy to be submitted to the Australia Party. Australian Party policies include a steady-state economy, Zero Population Growth, participatory democracy and redistribution of wealth.

University of Queensland Democratic Club (1945-197?).
Objectives - To maintain academic freedom in an era where the actions of sections of the university community threaten this freedom and to articulate policies for the security and betterment of Australian democratic society, policies which often conflict with left-wing ideologies.

Notes: The Club was originally formed to encourage political discussion with an emphasis on constitutional reform. It soon became defunct and was revived in the late sixties-early seventies period. It was associated with the "Counter-Revolutionary Moratorium Committee".
