Materials, primarily typescript, some signed and some with handwritten notes, relating to Fair Play Committee, an organisation opposed to holding the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Queensland, due to laws affecting civil liberties. Materials comprise leaflets, newspaper cuttings, press releases, a telegram, and a newsletter. Also includes correspondence between Fair Play and Amnesty International Australian Section (now Amnesty International Australia), the Aboriginal Treaty Committee, the Australian Government, the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa, National Sports Council of Tanzania, and Action for Aboriginal Rights.

Duplicated typescript document, 25 leaves, unpaginated, compiled by the QCCL and released on 28 September 1982. The document takes issue with the Commonwealth Games Act 1982 and the powers it affords police and specially deputised persons; the attempts of the Queensland Government to ban street marches not approved by the Queensland Police; and the lack of payment of award wages on Aboriginal Australian reserves. Also includes political cartoons and newspaper cutting collages throughout.

Circular letter regarding Wattie Creek land rights

Duplicated typescript circular letter from the Northern Territory Council for Aboriginal Rights (Inc.) regarding the 10 July 1968 announcement of the Australian Government's decision against granting land at Wattie Creek, Northern Territory, to the Gurindji people. It summarises the reaction of the Gurindji people, including Vincent Lingiari, after George Gibbs broke the news to the community. Also mentions Mick Rangiari, Vestey Brothers, Limbunya Station, Wave Hill, and the Wailbri people. Ends with a call for support to protest the decision.

The front page reports the activities of the NTCAR and a visit by two of its members to Newcastle Waters Station, the site of striking workers. Also mentions Wave Hill Station and Vincent Lingiari. The verso contains articles on unpaid award wages by the Vestey Brothers and issues of Aboriginal child labour on the stations (the name Billy Campbell is mentioned), as well as a summary of the support received from various other groups and organisations relating to the strikes.

The front page states: "A statement issued by the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders and the Abschol Department of the National Union of Australian University Students."

Aboriginal Land Rights Campaign - background material

Black type on white paper. Comprises an Introduction and Fact Sheets numbered from 1 to 7. The stated purpose of the document is to help campaign workers carry out campaign duties for the 1967 Referendum, from giving speeches and participating in discussions, to writing letters to newspapers and reaching various types of audiences. Topics covered in the Fact Sheets include Aboriginal social conditions, international standards and precedents, Aboriginal land rights, support in Australia through colonial and commonwealth history, and rebuttals for possible objections from pastoralists and mining companies about Aboriginal land rights.

Flyer circulated as part of the Equal Wages Campaign, led by Barry Christophers. Black type on white paper. Features a black and white print of a photograph of what appears to be an Aboriginal Australian stockman. Describes the strikes at Newcastle Waters Station and Wave Hill Station, with workers walking off the job and the Meat Workers' Union refusing to handle cattle from the stations. Ends with a request for financial assistance. At the foot of the flyer is a section that can be torn off and mailed to the campaign headquarters.
