Administrative history

Fair Play Committee, often stylised as FAIR PLAY, was founded during the lead up to the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. It was based in Brisbane, Queensland. The Committee's key objectives included effecting the relocation of the Commonwealth Games away from Queensland due to the state's record on human rights, and informing other countries participating in the Games of the legislative situation in Queensland, particularly with regard to repressive laws and the impact on the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Much of the activity of Fair Play involved direct approaches to Commonwealth countries and African sporting bodies. Unable to determine when the Committee disbanded.

Publicists included Michael Finucan, Margot Foster, Anne Jones, Ralf Loveday and Steve Stockwell.
