At head of page 2: "Conscious of the fact that to date Australian history books have paid little or no attention at all to the presence of the black Australians, the National Aborigines' Day Observance Committee decided - for National Aborigines' Day, July 14, 1972 - to invite a black Australian to supply what in his view represented part of the missing section in the history books. We publish his views herewith with no further comment."

Materials, primarily typescript, some signed and some with handwritten notes, relating to Fair Play Committee, an organisation opposed to holding the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Queensland, due to laws affecting civil liberties. Materials comprise leaflets, newspaper cuttings, press releases, a telegram, and a newsletter. Also includes correspondence between Fair Play and Amnesty International Australian Section (now Amnesty International Australia), the Aboriginal Treaty Committee, the Australian Government, the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa, National Sports Council of Tanzania, and Action for Aboriginal Rights.

Letter, typescript, and accompanying trifold brochure for Expo-Aborigine, an exhibition held in the Lower Melbourne Town Hall on April 14 to 15, 1967. The letter, one page, promotes Expo-Aborigine as a project headed by the Blackburn branch of the Aborigines' Advancement League (Victoria), in conjunction with the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. The purpose of the project is to inform the public on issues related to Aboriginal peoples. It is signed by the convenor Rev. R.L.G. Croxford. The brochure contains an overview of the reasons for the exhibition, a list of patrons by name, and the program of events across the two days. The front page of the brochure features an illustration of a close-up of what appears to be an Aboriginal Australian man.
