History

Lindsay Burrud Roughsey, thought to be born in 1913 (though at least one source lists his year of birth as 1917), was an Aboriginal painter and tribal leader of the Lardil people of Mornington Island. He was the brother of the painter and illustrator Dick Roughsey. At one stage he was the partner of Annie Chong. He contributed to the research conducted by Paul Memmott and the Aboriginal Environments Research Centre in various locations around the Gulf Country region during the 1970s. He died in 2007.
