History
Thought to be born in 1943 or 1944 on Mount Doreen Station (though at least one source cites a birth year of 1940). A respected member and Elder of the Yuendumu community. Advocate for land rights and against domestic violence. Was one of only two Aboriginal school teachers in the region during his early years before going on to become a community development worker and an international representative of the Central Land Council. Also held positions at the Yuendumu Community Council. Was married to Lynette Nelson. Died in 2021.
