Gwen Wheeler is a Brisbane-based actress. She performed in numerous plays between 1948 and 1982 for companies such as the Queensland Theatre Company, the Australia Council for Arts, the Queensland Government, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio, the Brisbane Repertory Theatre, La Boite Theatre Company and the Twelfth Night Theatre Company. In 1963, Wheeler played the role of Mrs. Jessup in Brisbane's first television play Vacancy in Vaughan Street which was aired by ABC. In the same year, Wheeler was cast as Mrs. Collins in Brisbane's second television play Dark Brown, produced and aired by ABC.
