History

Kathleen Vellacott-Jones was a British-Canadian journalist and photographer during the army occupation of Papua New Guinea. From 1953 to 1965 Kathleen was in charge of Public Relations for the Territory of Papua New Guinea and published news for the British and Australian press, taking extensive photographs of the region. Kathleen did not marry and was survived by a number of siblings and extended family.
