Biographical history

Poet and academic Ernest George Moll was born in Victoria in 1900, attended schools in New South Wales, and then went to the United States where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Lawrence College in 1922 and Master of Arts from Harvard University in 1923. In 1928 he was appointed Professor of English at the University of Oregon, a position he retained until his retirement in 1966. In 1939 he returned to Australia for a year as an exchange lecturer at the Teacher’s College, Sydney. He died in 1997 in California, USA.
