Biographical history
Born in China in 1932, Corrigan settled with his family in Australia following the Second World War, having spent 4 years as internees of the Japanese in Hong Kong. Since the 1960's, Corrigan has actively supported the arts grant initiative that has grown to become a national program, the Pat Corrigan Artists Grants. In 2000 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia 'for service to the visual arts, particularly as a philanthropist to regional galleries and through a grant scheme for artists'.
