Biographical history

David Hamill grew up in Ipswich; served as MLA for the area 1983-2001. A Rhodes Scholar, Hamill attended University of Queensland and Oxford University. In the early 1980's, Hamill left his academic career to enter state politics and in 1998 rose to position of Treasurer in the Peter Beattie Labor Government in Queensland. The material collected was accumulated by Hamill in the writing of his BA(Hons) thesis.
