Scope and content
Bicycle and Other Poems is Malouf’s first book of poetry, published by UQP in 1970, and later published in the United States as The Year of the Foxes and Other Poems (1979). This subseries contains two folders of poems that appear in the 1970 publication by UQP. Many have handwritten corrections and notes by the author giving the place and date of composition for some poems and where each poem was initially published.

Folder 1: Typescript. Comprises: 45 leaves and 3 pages (1 page removed from Poetry Magazine, 1969, 6, p. 12 and 2 pages removed from Poetry Australia, 1969, June, pages 5 to 7). Most poems are annotated by author and include details of where and when the poem was written and where it was first published. Two leaves have hanswritten list of poems that are to appear in the publication; one copy indicates when there are duplicate copies. These duplicate copies are in Folder 2. Poems dated from 1963 to 1969.
