History

The University of Queensland Mountain Club (UQMC) is an outdoor sports club formed in 2007 and affiliated with the University of Queensland Sport. The club aims to inspire and teach outdoor enthusiasts to improve their outdoor skills. They organise hiking, rock climbing, trail-running, rogaining and other outdoor trips predominately in south-east Queensland. UQMC is the amalgamation of two former University of Queensland clubs: the University of Queensland Bushwalking Club (1950-1997) and the University of Queensland Rockclimbers Club (1975-2007).
