History

Ron Tullipan was born in Murwillumbah into a well known Queensland circus family. He worked on properties in Queensland and Northern New South Wales before joining the AIF in the Second World War. He studied art and literature overseas and in Sydney,and was involved with the Realist Writers movement. He published many short stories and three novels, Follow the Sun (1960), March into Morning (1962), which won the Mary Gilmore Award, and Daylight Robbery (1970). Ron Tullipan died in Brisbane in 1975.
