History
Ric Throssell was born in Western Australia in 1922. He served in the Second World War before pursuing a diplomatic career in the Commonwealth Government. He wrote many plays for the Canberra Reparatory Theatre Company, as well as fiction and non-fiction works. Throssell married Eileen Dorothy (Dodie) Jordan at St John’s Church of England, Reid, on 3 October 1947. They had four children, including a son who died in infancy. Throssell took his own life between 19 and 20 April 1999, just hours after Dodie died in their home. They were survived by their children Karen, Querida, and Jim and their four grandchildren.
