History

Edward Harold Fulcher Swain was born 6 April 1883 in Glebe, New South Wales. He worked as a research consultant for Australian Paper Manufacturers from 1933 to 1934, was Chairman of the Queensland Forestry Board from 1924 to 1932 and Commissioner for Forests, New South Wales, from 1935 to 1948. He was United Nations forestry consultant to Ethiopia from 1951 to 1955. He died on 3 July 1970.
