History

Born in Scotland in 1869, J.D. Story was a member of the Queensland University Senate for fifty years and elected Vice-Chancellor from 1938 to 1959. His work on the Bridge Board, as part of a long Public Service career, led to the Story Bridge being named in his honour. Died 2 February 1966 at New Farm, Brisbane.
