History
Ronald Edward Store was born in Townsville Queensland on 4 January 1941. He graduated from University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts in 1962, a Diploma of Education in 1963 and a Bachelor of Education in 1967 He worked as a graduate assistant to the College of Townsville from 1968 to 1970. He obtained his library degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He worded as a librarian at the Townsville Teachers College from 1970-1974, principal librarian at Townsville College of Advanced Education from 1974 to 1981 and principal librarian at James Cook University of North Queensland in the 1980s. Store was co-manager of the Thuringowa Library service from 2001 to 2007, manager from 2007 to 2008 and convener of the Queensland Public Libraries Association/Public Libraries Australia joint conference in Townsville in 2009. In 2011 Store received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to library and information services, and to education [Information from the websites for ALIA and psnews].
