History

The Queensland Colliery Employees' Union (1908-1992) succeeded the West Moreton District Miners' Union in 1908. In 1916 the QCEU became the Queensland District of the Australasian Coal and Shale Employees' Federation (often known as the Miners' Federation). It maintained its separate status until 1992 when it became part of the Mining and Energy Division of the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU).
