Queensland Aborigines Advancement League (1960-1965). Also known as the Aborigines Advancement League (Queensland).
Objectives - To assist people of Aboriginal descent to acquire full citizenship rights; to assist Aborigines to acquire a standard of living equal to that of the rest of the community; to assist Aborigines to achieve equal pay and working conditions; to seek the advancement of Aborigines especially in the field of education; to seek the co-ordination of various organizations assisting Aborigines; to assist the assimilation of Aborigines who wish to be assimilated and to preserve the traditions of Aborigines who wish to be integrated only and still retain their identity.

Notes: This was the state branch of a national organization. The League established the Queensland Aboriginal Advancement League Scholarship Fund. When the League dissolved many members continued to work in the Queensland Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders.
