Objectives - To assist in the defence of political activists victimized and charged for opposition to the Bjelke-Petersen government; to collect and supply legal and political information to left groups to broaden this defence; to assist in the popular campaigns around these defences; to assist activists in organizing legal representation; to liaise for activists with the media; to liaise on behalf of activists with the police and courts; to defend the right to organize.
Notes: The group was formed particularly in response to the prosecution of Stephen Zaborowski and Lloyd Zischke (in Brisbane) and Ian Curr and Alex MacLean (in Townsville). The group was associated with the Defence Committee for Freedom for Zaborowski and Protection from State Violence.
