History
Edwin Henry Oribin was an architect born in Cairns in 1927. He became a registered architect in Queensland in 1953 and began a partnership with S.G. Barnes that year, active in residential and church design. After Barnes's death in 1959, Oribin continued his work in Cairns, closing down his office there in 1973, He continued to design significant residential and commercial buildings in Queensland. Many of his houses and buildings are heritage-listed, including his own Oribin Studio (1960).
