History
Born into the prominent Mayne family on 17 May 1856. One of six known children of Patrick Mayne and Mary McIntosh. He was among the first pupils enrolled at the Brisbane Grammar School in 1869. He excelled in scholastics and sports. He later attended the University of Sydney to study a Bachelor of Arts, then a Master's degree in Arts. He graduated in 1884 and returned to Queensland, where he became a Commissioner of the Peace. Died 16 August 1921.
